We recommend:
Cleaning your denture(s) with warm water, liquid hand soap and a
denture brush.
When brushing your denture(s) over the sink, either fill with
water or place a facecloth in the basin. This will decrease the
chance for chipping or breaking if the denture slips while
brushing.
If heavy stain builds up you could use a denture cleaner such as
Fixodent with Proguard or Polident. (Do not use these products if
you have a temporary soft liner in your denture(s)) If stain is
persistent your dentist has ways to remove it with a short visit to
the office.
When you are not wearing your dentures they should be placed in
water. With a little bit of mouthwash, for freshness if you would
like.
Your old denture(s), if you have one, should be placed in a damp
paper towel, in a plastic bag and frozen in the freezer. This will
prevent bacterial growth and distorting from drying out. If they
have a temporary soft liner it will help keep it in condition to be
worn later.
